COACH ALLEN BIOGRAPHY
Co-Founder & Athletic Director (Georgia Prep Sports Academy, Inc.)
An native of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Allen was a highly decorated and
taunted high school Quarterback and Baseball player. As a senior at
Bishop Dunne High School, he led his football team to an State
Championship and a undefeated 13-0 season, while also being awarded 1st
All-State and Offensive Player of the Year honors. As a captain of his
baseball team, he led his team to the state playoffs and gained
All-State honors.
Upon leaving high school, Allen attend Junior College in California at
Mt. San Jacinto College where he was a highly recruited Quarterback.
From there he went on to play football and baseball at Florida A&M
University. While at FAMU, Mr. Allen was the Quarterback of the 1995
MEAC Championship team and received MEAC honors as a well. Upon
finishing his collegiate career, Allen played 3 years of professional
football in Europe and in the Arena Football League.
As an educator, Mr. Allen is an certified physical education
instructor and has taught on the K-12 levels in Georgia and Florida
for over 7 years. Mr. Allen obtained his undergraduate degree in
Education from Florida A&M University, a graduate degree in Sports
Administraton from Central Michigan University and he is currently
working on his Specialist Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from
Lincoln Memorial University; he is highly qualified and trained to
oversee the growth of Georgia Prep Sports Academy.
Mr. Allen has an impressive coaching tenure which spans over 16 years.
He has coach on the high school level for 7 years ,helping over 100
high schools athletes throughout Georgia and Florida obtain collegiate
scholarship offers across the U.S. On the collegiate level,he started
his coaching career at Florida A&M University under Wlliam “Billy” Joe
(Collegiate Football Hall of Fame inductee). While coaching on the
collegiate level for 9 years , Mr.Allen was an instrumental part of
the “Gulf Coast Offense”, one of college football most explosive
offensives in history. Also during this time FAMU won numerous MEAC
championship as well as the Black College National Championship. While
at FAMU, Allen coached and recruited future pro Quarterbacks; Quinn
Gary (Jacksonville Jaguars), Patrick Bonner(Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Ben
Dougherty (Jacksonville Jaguars), Jujuan Seider (San Diego Chargers).
Allen also spent two seasons at Alabama A&M University during which
time, he help Alabama A&M University win the Eastern Division of the
SWAC .
Mario Allen is a highly experienced educator and coach who has
demonstrated the ability to lead a diverse team of individuals to new
levels of success.
